About this place
Devils Tower National Monument is in northeast Wyoming, reached by Wyoming Highway 24 (from Interstate 90, exit 185 from the east or exit 153 from the west, per NPS). The visitor center is a log building completed in 1935 with the help of the Civilian Conservation Corps and listed on the National Register of Historic Places; it houses park staff, exhibits and the Devils Tower Natural History Association bookstore.

How we check
Uses the dated hours NPS posts for the Devils Tower visitor center (NPS visitor center data, the same hours shown on the NPS hours page). Open only during today's dated posted hours, with no NPS alert about a visitor center or park closure. Closed on a day the dated hours list as Closed (for example a holiday), and before the earliest or after the latest time in any hours NPS posts for this building. Unknown if no dated hours cover today, if the hours can't be read, if two NPS hour notes disagree for that time of day, or if a closure alert's wording is unclear. The monument grounds and trails have their own rules; this status is for the visitor center only. We check official sources about once a day; see our method.
